Watch Band Of Brothers Movie
Do you find it disturbing when people watch TV shows/movies with people dieing then just treat it like a joke?
In certain scenes like comedy films I can see how it’s funny and laugh , but in others scenes, such as ones in the Band of Brothers or The Pacific miniseries, it just seems wrong when people around me are laughing and/or cheering when a German, Japanese, or even American soldier is shot or killed. What do you think about this?
There are a number of reasons for their behavior, some understandable and some not. In some cases people laugh at seemingly wrong situations because they feel awkward or uncomfortable with what they are seeing. When confused, you laugh about it to cover your discomfort.
At other times we are so disturbed by the sights, sounds and perceived carnage that we use laughter as a means of keeping the images at bay. I have seen pilots sit around making jokes and rude comments after a pilot has died in a crash. Turning it into a joke distances them from the reality that they could be next.
Or maybe they are just idiots. Seen that too.
